Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction that occurs when cannabis is heated. It is important to understand, as it can alter the effects of your product.
Normally cannabis products contain THCa and CBDa which when decarboxylated (for example through cooking or baking) are converted into THC and CBD. When it comes to your cannabis oil, this can increase the total amount of THC and CBD in your product.
Understanding decarboxylation is particularly important for patients wishing to preserve the levels of THCa and CBDa in their oils. Heating the oil is not recommended for these patients as it will decrease the levels of these cannabinoids and can cause them to become psychoactive.
Cannabis oil can be eaten or taken under the tongue (for small doses). If eaten, cannabis oil can be swallowed alone, or added to your favorite foods such as smoothies or salads.
Registering with WMMC is easy. Simply complete our Registration Package with your Healthcare Practitioner and return to our office as per the instructions contained in the package.

Yes, but remember that Cannabis oil is very concentrated so only use a small amount in your recipes. When cooking with Cannabis Oil it is important to note that temperatures over 350F can cause decarboxylation degrading THCa and CBDa, therefore if you are medicating using these Cannabinoids it is not recommended that you cook with the product. For more information about decarboxylation see WHAT IS DECARBOXYLATION AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND ITS EFFECTS?

The carrier oils used to create our products will solidify and go cloudy in cold temperatures. It is important to remember that this will not change the quality of the oil or alter its effects. If your oil has turned solid or gone cloudy, place the sealed bottle in a container of hot water until it melts and then mix thoroughly by inverting the bottle 5-10 times.

Your Medical Document can be completed by a physician or nurse practitioner who is licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons in your Province. It is a Health Care Practitioners personal decision to prescribe medical cannabis based upon whether they feel that it is the right course of treatment for you. If your Health Care Practitioner is not familiar with how to prescribe medical cannabis, you may find it useful to take examples of research that demonstrates how cannabis can be used to treat your condition, as well as examples of how you intend to use the medication and the types of strains that may work best for you, when you have your appointment. We would be happy to provide advice on where you can start your research, please give us a call at +1 604 962 3440.
Yes. Registration Certificates issued by Health Canada can be used to register for interim supply only.
When approaching your Health Care Practitioner about the use of cannabis, it is worth remembering that Canadian Physicians practice evidence based medicine. This means they may be interested in seeing studies and learn more about how medical cannabis can be used to treat your specific condition before completing your prescription, particularly if they are new to prescribing cannabis to their patients. They may also wish to know how much cannabis to prescribe. On average we see a daily allowance of between 1-5 grams per day.
Some of the things that your Doctor may want to know are how you plan to use cannabis, how much you wish to use, and what type will be most beneficial to you. Take the time to research these areas before your appointment. If you would like more advice, or some suggestions on websites that can assist you, please contact us at +1 604 962 3440
