Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC + THCA)

Tetrahydrocannabinol is the most well known cannabinoid and is responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis, along with many of the therapeutic effects. THC interacts with the cannabinoid receptor 1, which is found abundantly in the brain, and mimics our bodies own endocannabinoids, to create its effects. The CB1 receptor is involved in the body’s control of many physiological and psychological processes such as appetite, sleep, memory, mood and more. Because of the many functions of the cannabinoid receptors in the human body it is used by patients to treat a wide variety of symptoms.

CBD + CBDA

Cannabidiol (CBD + CBDA)

Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid which has many therapeutic effects. It interacts with the cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2) and also modulates the activity of THC. Cannabis with equal levels of CBD and THC may be better tolerated by patients who are negatively affected by the psychoactive effects of high THC varities.

CBG + CBGA

Cannabigerol (CBG + CBGA)

The precursor to both THC and CBD, CBG may also possess medicinal benefits.

CBC + CBCA

Cannabichromene (CBC +CBCA)

Another cannabinoid commonly found is CBC, it is also non-psychoative is being studied for possible theraptutic effects.

THCV + THCVA

Tetrahydrocannabivarin

THCV is another psychoactive cannabinoid, which is simialar to THC.

Cannabidivarin

CBDV is non-psychoactive cannabinoid very similar in structure to CBD. It is found in high quantities in certain varieties of cannabis from northern India and Nepal.

How we Grow

Our process replicates outdoor growing conditions in a controlled indoor environment. Overseen by skilled and knowledgeable growers, everything that goes into our plants comes from the ground and the ocean. Each stage of the process is carried out by hand, and takes five months to go from planting to packaging.

Strain Selection

We offer two distinct ranges of dried cannabis. The Original WMMC range is organic certified by the Fraser Valley Producers Association and goes direct from drying and testing to packaging. The WMMC+ range is grown using the same organic techniques as our Original range, however prior to being packaged is gently processed using E-Beam technology to offer more choices for immunocompromised patients.

How It Works

Using techniques that are common practice in the food and pharmaceutical industries, WMMC+ strains are processed using e-beam treatment which passes an electrical current through the cannabis to kill and reduce microbes. This process does not use any radioactive elements or gamma irradiation and is specifically designed for sensitive products whose quality would be impacted by other methods.

Since April 2014, we have been the only truly organic Licensed Producer of Medical Cannabis in Canada as certified by The Fraser Valley Organic Producers Association (FVOPA).

Being certified by FVOPA means that our growing practices conform to International Organic Growing Standards. To maintain our certification, independent third party inspectors can randomly examine our facility at anytime. In addition, every twelve months we must renew our standing, which involves an application process, third party independent inspection plus an assessment from the FVOPA certification committee.

Before being released your medication is thoroughly tested at an independent laboratory. This ensures that it passes our high quality standards and is compliant with the Canadian Food and Drugs Act.
